Come out and join us as we observe Mercury as it reaches its
highest point in the evening sky. Usually Mercury is too close
to the horizon for us to observe with the telescope, but that is
not the case during these three weekends. Through the Observatory's
16-inch telescope you will see Mercury in its last quarter phase.
Then as darkness falls, our telescope observing program, Celebrity Craters will begin. During the program we will introduce you to the astronomers and ancient philosophers after which some of the lunar craters were named. We will also be taking a look at Saturn, some of its many moons and its ring system through our 16-inch telescope. Our public programs are presented every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year. The Observatory is open from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. during the months of May through August. Admission:
