Submission Requirements

Students must complete a scientific study, write a scientific paper and prepare a 10 minute oral presentation summarizing the research. Students can enlist the help of a teacher or other mentor but this help should be accurately reflected on the Student Signature Page/Mentor Form when the paper is submitted for judging at both District and State Meetings.

PAPER SUBMISSION FORMAT - Please submit 2 identical papers complete with ALL forms. NOTE BOTH COPIES OF PAPER MUST BE IN THIS FORMAT AND ORDER FOR DISTRICT AND STATE MEETINGS

Cover Page - Should be the printed form of Student Information Sheet Online Submission
Completed Student Signature Page/Mentor Form. These must be included or you will not receive advanced ratings. If a Mentor is not available to sign the form, request an email stating what level of assistance was given be sent to amy.strong@wichita.edu
Paper
DO NOT place paper in 3-Ring Binder, sheet protectors or plastic binders. These will be removed and not returned to you.
Simply staple or use a binder clip to contain or it can be in a permanent spiral bound format
Do not use color graphs unless you submit two copies of your paper with color graphs. If you copy your color graphs, they will not be easily read in black and white and can lose meaning.

Submit KJAS Membership
Submit Student papers to District (check District Meetings page for deadlines)
If students qualify for state complete online Teacher Registration Form (See State Meetings page)
Submit Banquet reservations; Make checks payable to KJAS - NO BANQUET 2012
Collect completed publicity waiver for all competing students and bring to state competition.

Attend District Meeting
If invited to State Meeting complete online Student Information Sheet on State Meeting Forms page
If invited to State Meeting email a copy of your paper to amy.strong@wichita.edu. Save as a Word document or PDF with this file name format "firstname_lastnameyear" (amy_strong2009). Put KJAS State Paper in subject line. This does NOT need to include the signature page, mentor form or the online submission form. Just a copy of the paper.
Complete publicity waiver and give to sponsor that will be bringing you to state competition (if attending with parents bring with you to state and turn in at registration).
