State Meeting Requirements

Presentations begin as early as 9:00 a.m. and end as late as 4:15 p.m. All presentations will be recorded and files will be shared with you and your teachers.

A program with scheduled room assignments is provided at the event or can be found posted on the Schedules Page about a week prior to the event.

STATE MEETING TIMELINE

April 19, 2013 - On-line registration due
April 22, 2013 - ALL papers due by 5:00 p.m.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS - All presenters MUST have a KJAS membership prior to presenting at a District Meeting. Individual memberships are $15/year and a school or science club memberships are $25/year. Memberships are by the calendar year, however any memberships purchased after last August were applied to this year. The KJAS membership gives the students, schools, or science clubs a membership in the Kansas Academy of Science and members will receive copies of the Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science journal. POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS - We will provide a laptop and LCD projector in each presentation room at the State competition. Students should bring their presentation on a jump drive and load it on the laptop provided in the room just prior to their presentation. We do not guarantee INTERNET ACCESS.

REGISTRATION FEES - The KJAS does have a $3.00 registration fee for each presenter, instructor and guest at the State Meeting. This fee can be paid at the State Meeting Registration Desk. THIS FEE DOES NOT APPLY AT DISTRICT MEETINGS. KJAS members are welcome to attend the State Meeting even if they do not have papers to present.

MEALS:

KJAS will provide a morning snack for participants.
Lunch is on your own (allow about $5.00 per student).
